Our favorite places to get away in the mountains 🏔
Just minutes from Salt Lake City, Millcreek Canyon is an easy getaway with incredible views of the Wasatch Mountains and stunning canyon scenery. In the summer, you’ll find the picnic areas buzzing with family gatherings and BBQs and the trails active among both hikers and mountain bikers. In the winter, cross country skiing abounds, alongside hiking, snowshoeing, fat biking and even sledding.

Bells Canyon Trail is a very popular Salt Lake City hike located right at the mouth of Little Cottonwood Canyon. Thanks to the low starting elevation and the lack of major elevation gain it has become a popular hike for all ages and abilities. Not only are there great views of the Lone Peak Wilderness and the Wasatch Mountains, you'll enjoy fantastic overloooks of Salt Lake City.

Almost every Utah kid and teen begin their love affair with the mountains hiking to Donut Falls with family, youth groups and friends. It's an easy hike that allows for mom and dad to hike with one kid on their back, toddlers incessantly throwing rocks in the river, and teenagers dragging their feet. Summer weekends are packed and can be difficult to find parking. Go during the week or in the evenings to beat the morning rush.
