One of my favorite spots. If you love to swim and want to hang out in beautiful natural hot springs that are considered healing waters by many of the Native Peoples, then this is the place to visit. With a sauna, great picnic area, Olympic size swimming pool and ability to schedule a massage, I love Trimble after a great day of hiking, skiing or just to take off the stress off.

Sightseeing
If your visit to the area allows for the time, this is an iconic train ride from Durango to Silverton. Truly stunning scenery and a fun family day. I recommend the one-way trip if time is an issue.

The drive to Telluride from Hesperus takes you through Delores and Rico and the beautiful mountains of the San Juans to Telluride. Once in Telluride, a must is the chairlift ride from the Town to Mountain Village. I would recommend a full circle drive continuing to Ouray, Silverton and into Durango. The scenic tour of the San Juan Skyway is one of the most gorgeous drives I have driven. I take many of our friends on this route, spending a full day to drive and stop at all these beautiful historic mining towns. One of my favorite driving tours.

Absolutely a must if you have time. Go as early as possible as the heat during the summer is intense. This can easily be an all day event if you want to hike and tour the cliff dwellings.

Incredible ruins, great hiking and beautiful country. Go early, pack a picnic, bring lots of water and enjoy the open space. A truly unique place.

If you have the time, Chaco Ruins are worth the visit. Although, it would be a day commitment, the massive ruins are a sight to see. If you are not afraid to climb up a steep hill behind the ruins you will end up with an incredible aerial view of the ruins.

A gem close to home. A unique set of ruins in the middle of Aztec, NM. If in the Farmington, NM area you may enjoy taking in these ruins.
