After years of working on his father's cars, Chatham native Rob Myers started his own single-car garage restoration business in 1976, and by 1979, RM Auto Restoration was officially incorporated. Initially, the Chatham shop focused on repairs and engine and performance upgrades, eventually graduating to bodywork modifications and custom paint. In the 1980s, Myers began actively buying and selling collector cars and quickly developed a powerful reputation and following among car collectors across Canada and the United States. By 1991, RM Auctions was formed.
