For a lovely walk and history

Beautiful river front park with a big playpark and a palace with beautiful walled gardens which are free to get into (the gardens – you pay to get a tour of the palace). There is a duck pond and a free outdoor gym too. A nice long afternoon walk to do is to head to Bishops park and walk along the riverfront to Hammersmith, or Barnes Bridge if you have the energy, and you will pass a number of bars, restaurants and cafes to stop on the way while you watch rowers and sail boats glide past.

Food scene

The easy suggestion for finding somewhere good to eat or enjoy a coffee or glass of wine is to walk along Fulham Road, specifically, between the junction of Kelvendon Road and Parsons Green Lane and Munster Road, there are many restaurants along Fulham Road. There are also more nice restaurants between Parsons Green and Ashington Road on New Kings Road. Here are some favourites: BoysNBerry: my favourite brunch spot – open until quite late and does food and drinks all day Ta’Mini Lebanese Bakery: the name says it all! Sukho: delicious Thai food. A little more expensive than regular Thai restaurants but I’d say much better quality food. They sometimes have an early dinner or lunch deal. Little Blue Door: quirky bar with a house theme - there’s a kitchen bar, a living room bar and even a laundry area. Normally has a DJ on Fridays and Saturday nights with a calmer vibe during the day for cocktails.

one of the best in the neighbourhood, this recently opened. The chef is ex-Nobu. It’s quite dark so more date vibes than a family dinner.

Good place for a family meal. Lots of healthy options. That said, it does a very tasty almost-baked cookie dessert with ice cream!
