Just a 5 minute drive from the Lake Cottage you have grocery stores, butcher, bakery, tabac, bar, pizzaria, etc. Pretty central square with an old church. The Tourist Office is in a historical house.

The lake has a supervised lake swimming area and beach with playground, a swimming and kiddy pool, tennis, paddle and sail boats- even rowing! Its a great place to spend the day with the kids

From Lake Cottage you cant help but notice the church across the lake. Take the "green route" off the property for a lovely hike to reach the church-climb to the top and ring the bell if you dare!

Our favorite local wine-Tariquet! Tours are available-the chateau and grounds are lovely, and the owners are super nice and proud of their product. I highly recommend!

Food Scene
If you’re a foodie, then Gascony will make you want to return again and again because here, the local gastronomy is truly special. Famous for its hearty dishes, duck confit, garlic-laden stews, foie gras, fresh salads and vegetables from the farmers market, or from their own potager! Agen prunes, Armagnac and robust wines, tangy cheeses and salty ham, to know Gascony in all its glory requires a love of food!!
In 1280, Constance Viscountess de Marsan signed an “acte de paréage” (a shared sovereignty agreement) with the Order of chivalry of the Hospitallers of St. John of Jerusalem, with which they founded the new Bastide of Saint-Justin.This agreement was signed without the authorization of Edward I, King of England, then Duke of Aquitaine.
It is said that The Black Prince came through this village!

Labastide-d'Armagnac! 2 Restaurants that we recommend For the afternoons: Le Bastignac- delicious and traditional meals-all home made! my favorite: Le Bavette!!! a special sliced steak with onions, sauce to die for and peperade- with a side of duckfat fries!! yum! For the evening: La Guilleta-pizzeria. Not your average pizzeria! Its the BEST Ive tasted! The hosts treat you like family, great ambiance, and a bar upstairs. **both restaurants: reserve in advance (2-3 days) !!!
