Food Scene, pub, views, ambience
A lovely pub just across the water from us - take the old ferry boat from the back beach (£1.60 each way) and walk up the hill to the pub. The conservatory has views across the estuary to Teignmouth . Pretty good food gastro style but not overpriced . Dog friendly
If you walk further up the hill you will find the smugglers passage cut into the red sandstone hill known as 'The Ness' takes you to a beach which is not accessible by road. Dog friendly
Also Shaldon Zoo, award winning zoo of mainly monkeys and the like, worth a look.
Cosy friendly cafe with sofas and tables. A lot of charm. 50 meters away. They have jazz and blues nights, poetry, storytelling and science cafe evenings . And more.
