The park has Dark Skies designation because of its continued efforts to reduce light polution. This means it has some of the best star gazing in the UK especially around Crai and Usk reservoirs.
Also part of the park is a geopark. The Fforest Fawr UNESCO Global Geopark covers the western half of the Brecon Beacons National Park in Wales. If you are interseted in rocks and geology then this is the place to visit.

Great gastro food and wine whilst maintaining a cosy pub atmosphere. The menu is quite short but changes frequently. They are able to cater for special dietry requirements if given notice when booking.

Sightseeing
The cathedral is very impressive for a fairly small town and full of historic significance. The soldiers made famous by the film Zulu came from this area and there is a chapel dedicated to them. Also the longbow archers of Agincourt came from here and there are displays about them.
