Known for their hamburgers. And also for Edgar Allan Poe. He lived on Sullivan's Island and one of his famous short stories, Goldbug Island, is about Goldbug Island which is right off of Sullivan's. A great plan if you like to be active would be to get up early Saturday, bike to Sullivan's, have a beach day and then have supper at Poe's before biking home while the sun sets. I've done it a bunch and it's one of my favorite ways to spend a day.

This is the most local spot of all. It's called the Blind Tiger because during prohibition when selling alcohol was, well, prohibited, they sold tickets to “the blind tiger" in the back bar. One would pay for a ticket to witness the entertainment and and were *given* a complimentary beverage.

Shem creek is awesome and and it's where shrimp and fishing boats come to deliver their goods for restaurants and individuals buying local seafood from CSAs. There are some great restaurants you can go to here, and if you wanted to get on the water, you can rent paddle boards or a boat or whatever you'd like.
