In Milnthorpe, neighbouring small market town. Friendly service where you can just grab coffee, have a light meal or go for three courses. A slightly more 'happening' environment. Reasonable prices.

Our favourite, charming Indian restaurant in neighbouring beautiful village of Silverdale. Super food at incredibly reasonable prices. Run by a lovely guy and his great family. Take your own drink and pay cash. (There is a cash machine in the restaurant and at the Co-op next door, where you can also buy soft drinks, wines etc.) We often walk to Silverdale. Silverdale is included in the AONB.

Parks & Nature
Outstanding panoramic views over the Kent Estuary and Morecambe Bay, featuring Arnside viaduct and Lakeland fells. A variety of graded walks and trails, flora and fauna in this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
A brilliant place to watch The Arnside Bore, a tidal bore which occurs at high spring tides. Ashmeadow Nature Reserve is accessable by footpath and this is one good way to access the Knott. Listen for the twice daily sirens which herald the incoming tide; clear the sands at these times as the incoming tide is fast and furious.
There are guided tours across Morecambe Bay by Cedrick Robinson, Queen's Guide to the Sands. Never venture independently; the quick sands are treacherous.
