This medieval castle is absolutely beautiful to visit. The restaurants in the local square are a place to relax before and after a shopping trip around the many beautiful shops that are situated inside the castle walls.
Collioure is a place to visit for the whole day. The local streets have various shops selling gifts to the tourists. There is a small beach by the castle which is where the French Army are based. Some days you can see the soldiers going through their training in the sea.
The drive down to this part of France can be by the main motorway or the scenic route down the coast from Narbonne.
