Parks & Nature

This trail goes along the western coast of the Anchorage bowl. You can access it from Elderberry Park at the western end of 5th Avenue downtown. If you want to do the entire trail, rent a bike. It's paved and is gorgeous!

All the usual mall stores, plus some great local ones where you can get some souvenirs. Lots more souvenir shops along the streets around the mall as well.

Getting Around

There is soo much wilderness right outside of the city. It might be worth it to rent a car for a day or two and take a trip down our breathtaking scenic highways.

Right around the corner from the downtown entrance to the Tony Knowls Coastal Trail. We have an amazing trail system that weaves throughout most of town. This is the best way to get around Anchorage and the Coastal Trail is absolutely beautiful.
