Volcano National Park is the most popular place to visit in the Big Island (second to Arizona Memorial in the state) Unfortunately many roads inside the park are partly closed due to the last eruption. Best way to visit is by bike or hiking.

Every night at the visitor center, there is a public viewing of planets and stars. It is free and super exciting. Bring a jacket and warm clothes for this activity.

This is the newest black sand beach that was formed in the last eruption. The water is really rough to swim but the newly formed black sand is amazing. The beach is long and excellent for running or walking.
