Locally you can step foot in Running the Goat print shop, visit the best mechanic on the Southern Shore on Hwy 10, historical information with an exceptional view on Hwy 10. Beautiful cemetary. Worth the visit

LaManche Bridge
A nice hike from our doorstep to the suspention bridge in the park where you will see the remanants of the old village, the bridge and waterfalls.
Historically it is very important in NL history. The archeological dig while not significant is interesting. The lighthouse and the promontory it sits on is spectacular. Well worth the visit.

Great place to visit. Organized tours only by interpretation center in Portugal Cove South. Call to reserve. Multi cell organism Fossils are so ancient it has become a UNESCO Heritage Site.

The heart of Bauline East or South is our harbour.
WHALES and BIRDS.
Whales and Birds tours happened together only about during 6 weeks every summer. Whales tend to first arrive in Newfoundland on St. Vincent’s beach @ June 15 – 20, and they come up the coast depending on food until about July 25. After that the whales continue up to the Northern parts of the Island, Labrador, Greenland and the Artic. Birds come early May and stay until early September when they migrate to sea.
In our area we have four boat tours. Two are large boat tours – O’Briens and Gatherall, with an M C and also music, they both sail from Bay Bulls to Green Island. The prices are around $100.
In our more immediate area we have the MOLLY BAWN in Mobile and the GREAT ISLAND BOAT TOURS in Bauline East (South). These cost @$80 for adults. These sail to GREAT ISLAND which is magnificent.
Even if you see no whales the birds are just amazing, and the island as well.
