Mount Herman Trail is a 2.2 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Monument, CO that features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as moderate. At the summit you can see views of Pikes Peak and on a clear day you can even see into Kansas! Directions: From Old Town (downtown) Monument travel south on Mitchell Rd. to Mt. Herman Rd., then 5 miles to the trailhead on the right side of the road. With the majestic red rock formations and views of Pikes Peak in the distance, you will be awe-struck at the beauty that surrounds you. There is a paved and easy to travel trail throughout the park, as well as a visitors center and trading post for souvenirs.

The US Air Force Academy is just a short drive away, south on I-25. You can even see views of the academy from our home. Visitors to the academy can enter via the North Gate exit, pass through security, and enjoy the visitors center and other attractions.
