The park is a stopping place for a huge range of migrating birds. Sea salt is extracted from marshes and the whole area is full of interest for nature lovers.
You can book boat trips to explore this area with local experts or hire bikes on the seafront for an hour or a day and explore the coast under your own steam.

Sightseeing
Our favourite island and only 15 minutes on the ferry. There are (busier) beaches beside the dock but a 15 minute walk across the island brings you to miles of empty beach, blue sea and a funky beach bar in the summer months. You can rent an umbrella with 2 sun beds for about €10 but we provide umbrellas and beach towels if you want to wander further up the beach to a quieter spot. Heaven!
