Vrbnik is a town like you’ve never seen before. When you enter its nest of old houses and start exploring the curvy direction of its narrow streets, you will be transported hundreds of years back in time without being aware of it at all.
You don’t need to know anything about the history of Croatia and the island of Krk, but as soon as you come to Vrbnik, you will realise that it uncovers itself for you at every step. Stara Baška
Among the towns on the island, the City of Krk (Krk Town) is considered the centre. The status has been there from the beginnings of life on the island, and it is justified with an urbanised look and town features.

Baška
The main island road which curves for 40 km in the direction north-southeast-east ends in Baska. That way, Baska can be considered a place “at the end of the world,” and it is known that such places have to be visited. Accordingly, you shouldn’t think for a moment whether you should come to Baska. You simply must!
Malinska, together with 19 smaller settlements, shapes the Dubasnica area which is located on the western part of the island of Krk and which is probably the tamest part of the island, wholly protected from winds, which is also in the name Sotovento – leeward.
Because of the tameness of the landscape and numerous smaller settlements, one can talk about a one of a kind Malinska Riviera since the wooded coast curves endlessly and is populated by people who make their living exclusively from tourism these days.

Njivice is the newest-built town on the island of Krk. It has developed thanks to tourism. In 1930, the first hotel was built, and that started the transformation of a small fishing town into one of the bigger tourism centres on the Island of Krk.
In the centre of the town, there is a small port bordered by beaches on both sides. It is the centre of life in Njivice, along with numerous restaurants, cafes and pastry shops.

Njivice is the newest-built town on the island of Krk. It has developed thanks to tourism. In 1930, the first hotel was built, and that started the transformation of a small fishing town into one of the bigger tourism centres on the Island of Krk.
In the centre of the town, there is a small port bordered by beaches on both sides. It is the centre of life in Njivice, along with numerous restaurants, cafes and pastry shops.
Dating from the III century, Omisalj is one of the oldest towns on the Island of Krk and also the first town you will encounter almost immediatelly after you cross the Krk bridge from the mainland.
The town itself is built on the cliff about 80 metres above the sea with panoramic view over Kvarner bay. Omisalj has preserved its medieval urban structure and the charming old centre of Omišalj with its narrow streets is a pedestrian car-free zone.

Omišalj

Punat
Punat is a small town with 1,800 inhabitants, located on the southern coast of the island of Krk. The view of the town, whether it is approached from the sea or land, is unusual: the town is hedged in by the coast with an extremely deep bay called Puntarska draga, where a miniature island of Kosljun is located, along with a Franciscan monastery. Unreal beauty!
Silo is a small coastal town on the north-eastern side of Island of Krk. Silo is facing tourist town of Crikvenica on the mainland which can be reached in only 20 minutes by a taxi speed boat.
Silo is much quieter place than City of Krk or Malinska and is ideal for families with children, especially owing to sandy and pebble beaches nearby. In Silo you will find small restaurants with home made food, coffee bars and ice-cream parlours.

Šilo
Silo is a small coastal town on the north-eastern side of Island of Krk. Silo is facing tourist town of Crikvenica on the mainland which can be reached in only 20 minutes by a taxi speed boat.

Nearby, the 19th-century Ivan pl. Zajc Croatian National Theatre has ceiling paintings by Gustav Klimt. The hilltop Trsat Castle complex, which includes a religious shrine, has sweeping views of the islands of Kvarner Bay.
