It's fun to watch the boats come thru the locks. Best times for the fish ladder & underwater viewing area are: Steelhead — November-May, peak time is late March/early April. Sockeye (Red) — June-October, peak time is July. Chinook (King) — July-November, peak time is late August. Coho (Silver) — August-November, peak time is late September.

An 18-foot tall stone troll that lives under the Aurora Avenue Bridge. An easy walk across the bridge, take a right on 34th, a left on Troll Ave (just 1 block), and the troll will be 2 blocks up the hill in front of you.

It can be busy with tourists, but a stroll thru the market is always a delight! There are also some wonderful used book stores in the basement.

It's fun to take the ferry over to Bainbridge for lunch. The town is just a short walk from the ferry terminal.

Molly Moon's has the best ice cream! They have two shops somewhat close-by, one on upper Queen Anne and the other in Wallingford. If you're looking for a more nearby ice cream fix, Bluebird Ice Cream and Fainting Goat Gelato are both located just across the bridge.
