Family-friendly spot with cafe and space/facilities for games, picnics, swimming and boating. Great for letting a bit of steam off. Also the location of the South Lake, 5km Park Run, which starts at 9am every Saturday! You will have to pay for parking if you are not a National Trust member, but you can park for free on the road, just outside the park.
