Blackwood is in the foothill south of Adelaide City.
It is very green leafy suburban area.
As well as being a bustling shopping area, it also has “Wittunga Botanic Park”
& the Blackwood train station, which gives you a scenic 30 minute ride into the City.

Great for hiking, can continue on up to the top of Mt Lofty, which gives great City views & along the whole coastline.
There is a cafe & souvenir shop at Mt Lofty, so you can have a stop & treat yourself to a snack/ meal before heading back down.
A 2 hour round trip, plus time spent at Mt Lofty.
Is a bit of a climb but could just do the walk to the waterfall if time or energy is lacking. Note that the waterfall flow depends on rainfall & time of year.

Originally a historic German settlement. Still has original buildings & holds some German culture in its food options & atmosphere. Good for sightseeing & souvenir shopping.
Favorite restaurant is
“The Haus”, delicious food at reasonable prices.

Walk around the Island & stop for a drink & maybe a snack at the Cafe before returning back.
