Sightseeing

The closest beach is Agios Stefanos, The waters are very clean and it is family friendly. It’s an equipped beach with views of the cruise liners, if you are looking for a laid back “non-party" scene, affordable you can have a bite to eat in the tavern, there is a toilet, rows of sun loungers and rescuers. Also, there is a cute Irish bar across the street called, what else, Dublin! This is a great spot to hit for some local beer from the Mykonos Brewery. The bus stop is situated at the entry of the Agios Stefanos Beach and the bus goes to Chora ( down town) , where there are bus stops for the other beaches on the island.

The Choulakia Beach is the one you see form the terrace located in the so-called Choulakia Bay. This bay is unique on the island because of the 800 m long coastline with its white pebbles of medical size. Pebble beaches are rare on Mykonos - and Choulakia Beach is by far the most impressive pebble beach on Mykonos. It is not for nothing that the beach has been declared a natural monument. Information signs in Greek indicate that the pebbles may not be taken home under any circumstances. The pebbles do not make lying on the beach the most pleasant thing in the world, even the entrance into the water is more like a balancing act than a smoother bathing fun. But if you like solitude and tranquility, Choulakia Beach is the place to be. There is hardly anything going on here, few tourists find the beach at all, as it is not signposted and is not situated on the busy standard routes.
