The Ponce de Leon Inlet is a natural opening in the barrier islands in central Florida that connects the north end of the Mosquito Lagoon and the south end of the Halifax River to the Atlantic Ocean. Ponce Inlet offers incredible fishing opportunities due to its unique location on a barrier island, with both inland and Atlantic fishing available in the Halifax River, Indian River, and ocean. New Smyrna Beach also serves as the focal point of Floridian surfing. To the north end of New Smyrna, two jetties jut into the sea, protecting the Ponce de Leon inlet and creating waves on either side. Like most estuaries, Ponce pumps sand into the lineup creating more than a few sandbars for surfers to pick off peaks like fish in a barrel.

Located at Canaveral National Seashore, the Eldora Statehouse (c. 1913) is the best remaining example of earlier life along Mosquito Lagoon. In 1876, the community of Eldora, whose rich history spans four distinct time periods, was home to Native Americans and a few woodsmen who lived off the land. The Statehouse has been rehabilitated and now holds photos and artifacts that tell the story of the town and the people who lived there. Two videos give a brief history of both the home and the town and are available upon request. Times and days are subject to change. Open Friday, Saturday and Sunday, noon to 4 p.m.

Mon Delice has been serving authentic French tastes to visitors and locals of New Smyrna Beach, Florida since 1976. The bakery was originally opened by a French couple and, in 1992, it was acquired by another native of France, Serge Sorese. Serge grew up in Bormes Les Mimosas, located in the Provence Region of Southern France, on the French Riviera. He is the son of restaurant owners and discovered his culinary skills early in life. For the past 26 years, Serge and his capable crew have been hard at work in the kitchen, preparing amazing French Bread, Pastries, Croissants, Pies and Custom Cakes. Mon Delice is well known for their beautiful artisan breads, raised the way it would be in France, with the yeast and the crust on the outside of the bread. Try a sub sandwich served on this delicious bread. It is unforgettable.

Our restaurant here in Edgewater is a casual New York style pizzeria that is dedicated to providing a dining experience based on tradition, great service, food and family. Alberto's is operated for the enjoyment and satisfaction of our guests, not for the convenience of our staff or owners. New York style pizza started in the 1920's, and though our recipe has evolved, it is still closest to the original. Here, you can dine in and sip an ice cold soda, frosty mug of beer, or a nice glass of wine. Both young and old can come to Alberto's for an afternoon or evening filled with excellent food, great memories, along with a casual atmosphere and unique personality that Alberto's has to offer. Bon Appetito!
