This is walking distance from our house. There is a paved path for walking, there are picnic tables, and there is a wonderful children’s playground in addition to the historic hospital which can be toured.

Even if you don’t have anyone attending, it’s a beautiful campus. I’d recommend driving down Woodland through campus at least once.

Quick service, delicious food. It’s in the same building as the Artisan Hotel, and next to it, there is a boutique bar which often features a pianist or guitarist. Very cool little place.

This restaurant is not in Deland, but it’s one of my favorites and just 30 minutes away in Sanford. On weekends, they have German music and dancing. They also have a separate bar.

I don’t recommend the food from their food truck, but the entertainment is great. Live bands on weekends with fun crowds that change with the type of band that’s playing. The drag show on Tuesday nights is pretty good. Ladies’ night and karaoke nights might be fun too.
