Absolutely stunning easy walking trail up to a gorgeous waterfall. In the warmer months, it's lovely to walk up the creek bed to the falls and pack a picnic lunch! It's also beautiful in the winter as the falls freeze over (and it is a safer walk as it's flat).
50 minute drive from the cottage, on Cayuga Lake and only 15 minutes from Ithaca where you'll find a lot of fun shops and some yummy places to grab a bite to eat. We love Moosewood (vegetarian restaurant).

Taughannock Falls
Absolutely stunning easy walking trail up to a gorgeous waterfall. In the warmer months, it's lovely to walk up the creek bed to the falls and pack a picnic lunch! It's also beautiful in the winter as the falls freeze over (and it is a safer walk as it's flat).

Keuka Lake Outlet TrailIn the heart of New York State’s Finger Lakes you can fish, hike, bike, horseback ride, snowmobile, or cross-country ski seven miles of wooded trail bordering the Keuka outlet created nearly 10,000 years ago between Keuka and Seneca Lakes from Penn Yan to Dresden, NY.

This year round recreation trail provides visitors the opportunity to experience the scenic beauty and historic charm of the glacially-carved valley south of Seneca Lake. Following abandoned railroad and canal towpath corridors, the trail passes through a variety of wildlife habitats. The compact stone-dust trail surface accommodates walking, bicycling, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. Currently six miles of the trail is available for use. When construction is complete the trail will be twelve miles long and extending from the Village of Watkins Glen to Horseheads.
