Take the train from Great Ayton to Whitby which travels through the moors. A beautiful, scenic journey which takes just over an hour and is very reasonably priced. Whitby is a town that offers something a little different to your ‘typical’ coastal resort and will no doubt surprise you when you visit. Famous for its connections to Bram Stoker’s Dracula, Whitby has always embraced its association with Gothic culture which is reflected in the town’s quirky streets, shops and Abbey ruins, and of course the annual celebration of the culture. Fantastic shops, lucky ducks, Whitby Jet & fish and chips ! Beautiful sandy beach too !

A small town steeped in history. The Old Town where we are situated has old cobbled streets and a maze of small alleyways leading to ancient buildings and courtyards. This area has numerous pubs, bars and restaurant's as well as many teashops, cafes and curio shops and galleries.
