Sandwich is a quaint little town about 20 minutes drive away. There is a lovely walk along the river bank into a nature park and the narrow streets and little shops are interesting to explore. You can catch a boat ride here which takes you out to see the seals!

Today, the ships have been replaced by smaller craft, residential and visitors moorings, but the many ancient buildings make Sandwich one of the best preserved medieval towns in England and well worth a visit - 30 mins drive from Canterbury
