If you are in to a little history then you should check out Wright Brothers Memorial Museum! The two brothers are known for successfully creating the worlds first motor-operated airplane. They did this on Jockey’s Ridge -which is the tallest sand dune on the Atlantic coast!

As well as enjoying the Wright Brothers Park myself, it is a place I like to take my family and guests. You can hike to the monument or spend your time in the museum. Both are worth seeing.

An amazing historical sight where one can walk the same footsteps as the iconic Wright Brothers walked as they made history with the First Flight. Stone markers indicate where the first 3 flights took off and landed in 1903. The Wright Brothers Memorial gives the visitor an awe inspiring sense that they are in the presence of a momentous piece of history. This breathtaking site is only 2.5 miles from The Holly House and can be driven to within minutes or walk to through backroads within an hour or 2.
