Reach the Hôtel National des Invalides in 26 minutes (Metro Line 13, Plaisance - Varenne or Invalides). Famous for its gilded Dome, this exceptional monument contains the collection of the Musée de l'Armée and the Tomb of Napoleon I. Also, a great place to picnic on the extensive lawns with the locals in the summertime.

The Musée de l'Armée housed within is a beautiful museum of military history. The uniforms and armoury are stunning, as are the top floor maquettes of forts over the ages. Allow at least four hours here, maybe more. Also has Napoléon’s Tomb.

Angela's favorite! With its imposing size and its intimidating canons, the Hôtel National des Invalides (home to the Musée de l’Armée and the tomb of Napoleon) symbolizes the power of a district which, in a small area, boasts the Palais Bourbon, the Champ-de-Mars, the Musée d’Orsay, Musée Rodin, the Ecole Militaire and the Pont Alexandre III.
