We will explore Zagreb main farmers' market and find out why it is called Belly of the town. You will taste there something very authentic for Zagreb. We will visit Tkalciceva street and you will hear about the river that is still running below it. We will go to Upper town where you will light a candle in Stone Gate. You will hear about haunting witches, legend of Black Queen and see our most important monuments located there. You will find out interesting facts about Zagreb and Croatia, learn about most important people in our history, get to know our mysterious legends and of course be introduced to our culture and costumes (like drinking coffee for hours). As a Zagreb resident, I will share my perspective and give you my recommendations about anything you want to know about Zagreb - from art to gastronomy :) During Christmas Market I will give you best recommendations what to visit and what to try. I promise you that after our walk - you will fell in love with this town :-)
Markets, Wine and Vintage clothes
Meet me in my vintage shop in Zagreb for a tea before we start our charming tour. I love markets, we will visit two, approx 15 minute walking distance. After this tour you will know everything about beautiful markets in Zagreb where I buy food everyday. You will have opportunity try some local products, from my favorite suppliers, and famous burek or fish. Market visit we will end with typical simple lunch. We call it ¨gablec¨. After that we will visit some vintage second hand stores, local designer stores and other charming places with craft products. Now we are ready to explore wine bar and shop and to try croatian wine. Croatian wines are excellent and you will fall in love instantly. We will tray two different wines, one typically for a coast other for a continental part of the country. My friends Siniša and Marko work in a wine shop and always have great advice and so much knowledge. Other things to note Put comfortable shoes and clothes. There is a 15 min walk between markets, we can take a tram if you want. All location are walking distance from the centre.
Last Minute- From Zagreb with Love
During this walking tour guests will have the chance to meet the city of Zagreb, not only learning its history and facts but also seeing and feeling the city as it is behind the scenes. We will try to find as many mysterious symbols in the city as possible, we will see the "Grounded solar system"- a well-known street art installation representing our solar system, with the planets placed all across the city, but we will also get to know something about Zagreb's history and tradition as well. We will walk past some of Croatia's most famous palaces, churches and other important historical and modern buildings. We will stop to take some great photos at a few panoramic views so you can bring this unforgettable experience home with you and always remember Zagreb. Guests are recommended to wear comfortable shoes, but the walk is easy and it takes about 2,5 hours. Other things to note You should be relaxed, lightly dressed, not in a hurry and willing to hear interesting legends, stories and facts about our capital country.
Play with fire and make glass art
The unique experience lasts 2 hours . I will show and explain the basic flameworking technique. After an introduction about glass and safety, you will get a chance to work on a torch. Under my supervision, you will get the opportunity to make a glass blown vase and/or pendant. All your glass art will be annealed in a kiln for you. Pieces will be available for pick up or shipping one week after the class has finished. International shipping is included. Explore Zagreb with Art Historian
The tour includes not only sightseeing, you will also learn a lot on local art and exhibitions, local customs, 20th century history and linguistic influences throughout different parts of Croatia, which might give you a broader picture and context of local culture. Let's meet at Zrinjevac- Nikola Zrinski square, and from there we will take a walk along the green horseshoe park, passing through Zagreb main square, visiting Kaptol and Gradec, connected by one of the most beautiful farmers markets in Europe, Dolac. While strolling through the upper town we'll pass by most famous Zagreb churches as well as Zagreb town promenade that follows the old wals of once fortified town. We'll descend from the upper town with the oldest and shortest european funicular, and follow the path to Flower Square, passing through the Octogone- a 19th century building complex. We end the tour at the Flower square, pitoresque pedestrian zone with lots of caffes. Next you will walk the World War II underground tunnels while being introduced to the history of Croatia and Zagreb through the 20th century including the World War II, almost 50 years of communist Yugoslavia and the fall of communism in Croatia through the Homeland War. The tour finishes in the basement used by locals as a shelter during the air raids on Zagreb in the 1990s where the details of the Homeland War are presented through an exhibition and a video presentation.

Meet us in the heart of Zagreb downtown, where your super comfortable orange city bike and your guide will wait for you. We will embark on an adventure that will lead us firstly to the historical Upper Town with narrow streets opening to beautiful squares where you will learn about rich 900 years history of Zagreb. Of course, be ready to see some things other tourists will not experience, such as private courtyards or places locals hang out at. We will ride back downtown through a small forest and a park secluded from the usual tourist path. In a matter of minutes you will find yourself on a longest street in Zagreb leading us to a beautiful coffee shop where we will treat you to a refreshment and tell you about Croatian coffee culture and social habits. After we have refreshed, it is time to continue exploring the beautiful parks and architecturally spectacular squares. Day trip to Ljubljana & Lake Bled with a minivan from Zagreb
Set off in a small group (max. 8 people) from Zagreb and enjoy a scenic drive through the beautiful Slovenian & Croatian countryside. Our licensed driver guide will get you familiar with the itinerary for the day, as well as information about the sites you are visiting and the general history of Slovenia. Approximately one hour into the drive, we will reach our first destination, Slovenia’s Capital Ljubljana. Ljubljana is one of the smallest EU Capitals also known as a city with a green soul winner of Green Capital awards in 2016. Your guide will take you for approx 2h orientational walking tour followed by 90 min. free time for you to wander around on your own. About half an hour driving from Ljubljana we will reach Lake Bled known as the image of paradise, a tourist hub on the edge of the Triglav National Park – nominated as one of the seven new wonders of the world. On Bled you will visit the famous Bled Castle, walk around the lake and admire beautiful nature. We will spend about 2 hours on Bled. After we finish the sightseeing, we will head back to Zagreb. Mushroom Hunting in Zagreb mountain

We will hike the Medvednica mountain in search for mushrooms. With mushrooms you never know, they grow where they want and when they want so you might be lucky or not to find a mushroom or a lot. Explore Medvednica - hike to Medvedgrad
Do it as local hikers do! Drive in local bus and save some green points for mother earth! We will meet on British square (Britanac) and start our hike by boarding local bus. After 20 minutes drive through nice residential area (beautiful houses usually hidden for tourist eyes) we get off the bus near wonderful church with blue roof and yellow stars. This is Šestine area from where many of our local signs in Zagreb come - red hearth of zagreb, red umbrella, ... Here we start our hike towards Medvednica mountain. Hike up to the Medvedgrad fortress is easy 1h -2h hike. We customize the exact trail to the group preferences - either go directly up Medvedgrad trail or first visit fresh water source Kraljičin Zdenac (Queens well) and then climb Medvedgrad. VIisit to Medvedgrad Fortress is NOT INCLUDED IN TOUR, but if a fortress is open you can optionally visit, and feel the castle from inside or we return downhill the same or optional route to the starting point. There we catch the same bus and return to Britanac. Other things to note Please have some water and food, wear hiking shoes, this is a hike up on mountain trail. Medvedgrad fortress might be closed. After we have refreshed, it is time to continue exploring the beautiful parks and architecturally spectacular squares. We will always try to take you through locations that have some special events depending on the season, but be prepared to get tempted by divine smells of street food or to dance with the kids in the park. We want you to feel like a Zagreb local, even if for 1 day! Our tour will end right where it started, and you can ask us for any recommendation regarding restaurants, shopping, nightlife, or any other topic. Other things to note In case of heavy rain we can postpone the tour to later time.
