The Pinon studio log vacation cabin rental is situated along Bear Creek Canyon at an elevation of 4800 feet. Our southwestern New Mexico location, with its near perfect weather year round is hard to beat! Average 280+ days of sunshine, stunning blue skies and 7"-13" of rain annually provide milder summers and winter weather folks from up north dream about while shoveling snow! The Pinon Log Cabin is our version of a comfortably furnished, rustic studio-type vacation rental perfect for a single or a familiar two. With approximately 430 square feet, this little cabin is big on ease.
Unexpected beauty is hidden along the valley where Bear Creek meanders. Sitting at the end of a well maintained 4 mile dirt road, you will find our 360 acres in southwest New Mexico surrounded by ancient cottonwood, Pinon and sycamore trees. (GPS: 32.969224, -108.525218).
This "end of the road" cabin along with our 4 other rustic properties, will satisfy your need to disconnect, escape the cold, the crowds, the stress. The quaint Village of Gila is a 10 minute drive away and offers a medical clinic, library, post office, art gallery and is truly the "Gateway to the Gila Forest". Still convenient to major shopping in Silver City, NM and an easy 35 minute drive, you'll enjoy browsing a variety of shops, antique stores and boho, silver, turquoise homemade jewelry bodegas. You'll find a long list of of things to do and see: day or evening fine dining or fast food; multi-cultural cuisine or eclectic funk, Western New Mexico University, our local Farmers Market, theatre, an annual Fiesta, Little Toad Creek Brewery & Restaurant, art galleries, or antique stores (check out Manzanita Ridge)!! Day trips to big cities such as Tucson AZ, Las Cruces NM, and El Paso TX are easily made.
Fully furnished, perhaps our personal favorite, the kitchen features custom-designed Italian stone counter tops, a 4-burner stove top, microwave, two apartment-sized refrigerators, coffee maker, toaster, microwave, toaster oven, crock pot/slow cooker, blender, dishes, flatware, cooking pots, utensils and a dinning bar with stools where you can enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner. For your convenience, the pantry is supplied with complimentary items such as gourmet spices, condiments, small amounts of sugar, coffee creamer, tea, cooking oil and spray, pasta, rice, microwave popcorn, canned meat chunks, foil. A few miles from your cabin you'll find our local convenience store/gas station stocked with fresh dairy products, eggs, ice cream, bread, canned fruits and vegetables, frozen meat, lunch meat, soda, snacks - open 7 days a week.
The hotel quality queen bed beckons you to sleep in just a little longer than usual, all snuggled-up in the luxurious Egyptian cotton linens. The radiant, in-floor heating will keep your toes nice and warm on chilly mornings and, if you are here during the warmer months, you can count on the Air Conditioner to keep you cool!
The living area in this quaint little gem features a comfortable Italian leather love seat with matching easy chair with plenty of throw pillows. There is a chest of drawers and vintage cedar armoire. This cabin also boasts a full bath, with shower and tub, and for the evenings when the star-studded sky isn’t quite enough entertainment, there is also a TV/DVD library. Sorry -- no network, cable or satellite tv stations are available. Wi-fi for steaming video or music using your personal account. Unlimited long distance calling within the Continental U.S.

Trace the path of the Mimbres Indians who lived along Bear Creek and the Gila River 1300 years ago. Uncover their history through pottery pieces, ancient tools, pictographs and remnants of stone dwellings which can still be readily found along Bear Creek. Introduce yourself to the more recent legendary characters who roamed the hills, mountains and towns in this area, including Billy the Kid, Geronimo, and Ben Lily. This is southwest winter weather folks up north flock to revel in and flock to enjoy. The Agave Log Cabin is fully furnished with everything you'll need and loaded with plenty of rustic charm. From your covered deck, enjoy morning sunrises or evening sunsets sipping your favorite beverage as you rock under a tin roof covered deck. Experience the peace and quiet of an area still rural and relatively untouched by urban influences.
Here, the pace is slower, more relaxed. Hikers will enjoy exploring Mother Nature's trails leading to stunning vistas found at the top of Double E Ranch Trail. Once at the top, you'll be looking into 4,700 square miles of expansive, pristine beauty - the Gila National Forest. Just beyond your cabin door, Bear Creek meanders slowly for nearly 2 miles through this private property, finally converging with the Gila River in the Village of Gila. With more than 250 recorded sightings of both native and migratory species, birding opportunities are limitless here and in other locations nearby! Dark star filled New Mexico skies are perfect for star gazing or simply holding hands.

The over sized living room boasts a plush leather Futon that doubles as a second bed if needed, hand crafted maple and re-purposed 'farm implement' lamp tables. The large bedroom has a queen bed with luxury cotton bedding, a vintage farmhouse armoire, a dresser and mirror from the 1930's, and an antique desk. This cabin has a full bathroom, with shower and tub, and is comfortably equipped with radiant, in-floor heat, perfect for chilly winter mornings as well as air conditioning for warmer months.

This cabin was described by a recent guest as "deliciously private"! Of course, FREE Wi-Fi! For your convenience, the pantry is supplied with complimentary items such as gourmet spices, condiments, sugar, coffee creamer, tea, cooking oil and spray, pasta, rice, microwave popcorn, canned meat chunks, foil. Six miles from your cabin you'll find our local convenience store/gas station in Cliff NM stocked with many food items that will save you a trip to Silver City. Open 7 days a week they also sell fishing licenses.
This 700 (approx.) square foot cabin has everything you need to feel right at home, for any length of stay. Furnishings in the Hideout Cabin include leather love eat and chair, tv/dvd, dining area for 4, full kitchen complete with dishwasher, large refrigerator/freezer, gas stove and oven, coffee maker, toaster, pots/pans, flatware and cooking utensils. At the end of the day, sleep won’t take long to come as you experience the peace and quiet of the star-filled sky, snuggled in your cotton bed linens on a luxury queen bed.
The private bathroom has an extra large shower with bench seat, a pedestal sink, plenty of plush, fresh towels, blow dryer, paper products, cleaning supplies and a storage cabinet for your toiletries. We also provide a BBQ grill, charcoal and lighter fluid for outdoor grilling. The only element missing is you!
If you love to start your day drinking in the natural beauty of your surroundings, the deck at the Hideout Cabin was made for just you. Begin the day with a hot cup of coffee, rocking on your covered deck, watching the local wildlife stir. With the creek just a short walk from your cabin, if you sit quietly, you’ll likely spy deer, roadrunners, wild turkey and jackrabbits in the fields, and eagles, hawks, and falcons in the crisp blue sky. Don't be surprised to see a few Rocky Mountain Big Horn Sheep relaxing on the cliffs across from your cabin!
Right out your door you’ll have access to 360 private acres that includes a variety of terrain, including miles of “no trail" hiking as well as several miles of Bear Creek. The adjacent 15 square miles of public land proves you really are at the end of the road, as it back up to the 3 million acre Gila National Forest. We've been told that once you're here, you want to stay longer - or, not leave at all!
