No-frills cosy base for Lakeland and the Solway
Snug little mid-terrace property in the tiny village of Port Carlisle on the English side of the Solway Firth. Rather run-down & shabby but full of character and very cosy. Port Carlisle has a faded splendour - built on the site of a fishing village, for a brief time it was a major port serving the city of Carlisle. It had its own a canal and later a railway, but in the 1850s the Firth silted up and ships could no longer get in. Birdwatchers and fans of industrial history will love the place.

The delightful garden opposite is a sunny and private haven where you can sit and read by day or watch the amazing stars at night. One well behaved dog by arrangement and small fee.

Lovely large cottage on the Hadrians wall trail. Located just 12 miles from Carlisle and Wigton and less than 10 miles from the Carlisle bypass. Approx 25 minutes to J44 M6. This is a dedicated holiday let and is newly refurbished with a large social living and dining area. There are 3 bathrooms, 1 downstairs, one family bathroom, and one ensuite. The cottage is located in an area of outstanding natural beauty and special scientific interest on the Hadrian's wall trail.
