Yo can't stay Porthleven and not visit the Ship, great food, and beer, cider. With plenty of outside seating and dogs are definitely considered equals here, and you'll always get chatting to someone.

Nature and walks
A great walk along the coast to this inland lake and massive sand bar beach. If you want to go that bit further head to Gunwalloe where there's a beach cafe too. Alternatively head for the 'stables' cafe.
Just beware though this beach and lake are not for swimming in.
