COVID notice: during the current situation, the tour will be held as a private one (so I will block the rest available spots after every first booking for a given day).
This is usually a small group tour. The meeting point for it is behind Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, next to Cafe La Catehdrale at 8;45am. The minivan is new and comfortable, most times with free wi fi. The departure is at 9am. The traveling time to Plovdiv is about two hours. Plovdiv itself is considered the oldest existing town in Europe with a history dating back to the 4 millennium BC. There we will do a 2- hour walking sightseeing tour in the heart of the city, full with interesting facts, with which we will explore the old town (famous for its unique Revival houses), the Roman theater, Stadium and Forum, see the beautiful panoramic views from the hill, and walk through the main street- the longest in Europe. Since Plovdiv is my hometown, I will be able to tell you a lot of little known facts and show you some less known and hidden places.
Plovdiv in fact is the European capital of culture for 2019. After the guided tour, you will have about 2 hours free time for lunch (good local restaurants will be recommended) and to explore some of the shops along the main street. The departure back to Sofia is at 3pm and the return at 5-5;30 pm.
