In the other direction is the easily accessible coast path with cliff walks to Exmouth and Sidmouth.
The (walkable) beach is Ladram Bay, a Holiday Park.

The pretty Halfpenny Cottage, with the village brook running past the front door is situated at the lower end of the village.
Budleigh Salterton beach is a 2 mile walk or cycle along the idyllic river Otter where, if you're lucky, you can see beavers, otters and waterfowl.
A short walk away is the community owned village pub named for the famous local Sir Walter Raleigh, as well as a well stocked community shop and boule pitch.
Also close to glorious coastal and countryside walks.
