Visitors center hours are limited to weekends in the summer - but this is a great place to go for information on the Santa Rosa Mountain area including Idylwild.

Hiking - if you are interested in going for a hike or a trail run, you should stop by the visitor center and get a map. My favorites are: Art Smith, Hope along Cassidy and the Bump & Grind

Wildflower Festival March 4, 2017 9am-4pm For one wonderful Saturday, you can look for desert wildflowers on one of the guided hikes or walks offered by our dynamic volunteers on the trails near the Visitor Center, visit our extremely popular Kids’ Zone with arts and crafts for the children, and see local artists demonstrate their crafts and sell their wares. Animals from the Living Desert make appearances throughout the day. Specialty workshops are offered at various times and you can also learn about conservation and education activities at booths hosted by our partners including the Living Desert, California Native Plant Society, Big Bear Discovery Center and US Forest Service.
