The break wall walk is a great way to get exercise next to the Niagara River and Blackrock Canal
Broderick Park offers a beautiful walk along the Niagara River. Tucked away behind a brick paved street and across a beautiful metal draw bridge, there is easy parking on site. Often the rowing teams are out, and there are always lots of birds to see as well.
Walk out on the break wall from this park and pass under the peace bridge, getting a unique view of the city. Or ride bikes, run or walk in the other direction on the bike path out to Unity Island. It is always cooler here in the summer, and recent renovations note the tie to the history of the Underground Railroad.
The bike bath along the Niagara River, from Broderick Park to Unity Island, is a favorite for me and my pups - a bit less than 2 miles round trip.
