Union Terrace Gardens is a Victorian sunken garden in the city centre. Aberdeen City Council hold many events here and is surrounded by some of the best architecture in the city.
On a nice sunny day this is a garden that you should really visit, it's only a 5 minute walk from the flat. The garden is full of lovely flowers and has a grass lawn which is nice to lay on when the sun is shining. Recently the gardens have been redesigned with the introduction of some pavilions.
A mad industrialist wants to concrete over this historic green-space. The Onion Terraces may be long gone but the park is still a great place to visit
Situated just off the city's main thoroughfare of Union Street, the park was built in the valley of the Denburn and the amphitheatre formed over the remains of the flattened Denburn Terrace. Union Terrace Gardens is used for occasional concerts and leisure activities as well as providing an oasis for relaxation in the city centre.
