Serene open air museum where you can enter houses from various perids, amongst them turf houses that give a good idea about how life used to be in Iceland 80-150 years ago. Much has happened since then!

Árbær was an established farm well into the 20th century, and the museum opened there in 1957. Árbær is an open air museum with more than 20 buildings which form a town square, a village and a farm.
