Back in the olden days this building was a police station, court house and prison all in one. Being the last county in England to abolish the death sentence, you can see the hanging gallows that were used for the very last time!! They also have awesome ghost nights!
Worth a trip if you are interested in the history of the area. Real, court rooms and a pretty gruesome catalogue of criminals and history of crime in the city.
Relive Nottingham’s past by visiting this Victorian courthouse and prison which been voted as England’s Best Small Visitor Attraction of the Year 2014. The guides are dressed with period costume and will ensure that your experience is an authentic and interactive one, full of surprises, maybe even scary sometimes.
England’s history of Crime and Punishment is a shocking one. As are the sinister and grim stories of Nottingham’s own outlaws which are brought to life in the building
