Hawaii’s largest isolated inhabited valley. Beautiful hike and overlook, rugged terrains. I appreciate how rural it remains.
Just the overlook, if that's all you can swing, is insanely gorgeous. It is a 15-25 minute hike down to a beautiful valley, a black sand beach, and a freshwater stream that meets the ocean. This valley, among several of the valleys on this coast, is very sacred land to native Hawaiians, with a rich history.
Incredible overlook and valley, steep but short hike down and up, bring a picnic and enjoy the magic and awe of this beautiful spot. It's okay to hike down during peak sun, as there is lots of shade at the bottom.
Great view of the valley, steep trail down into valley. Not a place to swim due to the current.
