Jacksonville is an excellent example of a preserved mining town. It was one of the first mining towns established in the region and was the population center until Medford and Grants Pass were established and began to grow. Many of the historic buildings in town have been preserved and it is worth visiting. Located 16 miles from Big Foot Lodge.
