The Sepetçiler Mansion is one of the two coastal mansions in Sarayburnu, the part of the Historic Peninsula that overlooks Galata and the Bosphorus. Sultan III. It was built by Architect Davut Ağa with materials specially brought from various regions during the reign of Murat. The historical building, which was within the borders of Topkapı Palace at the time it was built, was renovated during the reigns of Suleiman the Magnificent and Sultan Mahmut I. There were boats belonging to the sultans in the place where the Sepetçiler Summer Palace, one of the most magnificent of the mansions built during the Ottoman period, was located. The Ottoman sultans used to watch the navy's departure or return from here, as in the Yalı Köşkü. The Sepetçiler Kasrı, which was used as a military medicine warehouse at the beginning of the Republic period, was restored by the General Directorate of Foundations in 1980 after being abandoned for a while. The Sepetçiler Summer Palace, which was used as the International Press Center of the General Directorate of Press and the Project Office for the 2010 European Capital of Culture, continues to host its guests today with its view and delicious tastes.
