A very short walk from our vacation rental (Rejoice), you can spend the day exploring prehistoric Nassau. It is one of the last remaining untouched landscapes on New Providence Island

Established 2002! You will see dramatic sinkholes – unique limestone caverns up to 50 feet long, 30 feet wide, and in some cases 30 feet deep. The Primeval Forest supports a diverse collection of plants and animals.

Step back in time to what the island looked like when the Lucayans called The Bahamas home. While a self-guided tour is an option, I highly recommend spending the additional $15/person for a guided tour. The guides are so knowledgeable about the plants, people, history and geography of the island.

Primeval Forest National Park is a small national park located on southwestern New Providence Island in the Bahamas. A patch of old-growth blackland coppice and karst with an area of 7.5 acres, it is considered a time capsule of the old evergreen tropical hardwood forests of the Bahamas.

Learn about the flora and fauna at the Primeval Forest. Off the beaten path, but worth the trip.
