Here you can purchase a permit to enter the forest ($5.00 per car) and to visit the Tarawera Falls. You don't need a four wheel drive vehicle as the roads in the forest are good.

Tarawera Falls and outlet, forestry permits available here at a cost of $5 a car, you're provided with a map, permit andand directions in and out of the forest. Definately worth a visit!
