This is a real "local bar" slash dive, but without being trashy. The crowd is older, the bartenders are always nice, and they make a pretty dam good margarita!

A houston staple of heavy pours and cheap house vodka. Be prepared, but will get your money's worth.

Another favorite across the street form La Carafe. Strong drinks and great music on the jukebox. It's an institution.

Best dive bar in downtown along with the best pours in downtown. This place has been a long time Houston institution.
