Drive up the highest paved road in North America. A short trail from the parking lot leads you to a final altitude of 14,130 feet. On the way up, look for bighorn sheep, marmot, ancient bristlecone pine, high altitude lakes, and sweeping vistas. The road is open approximately Memorial Day to Labor Day, and is open for foot traffic or bikes or snowshoeing year round. Navigate to Mt. Evans Lodge and check cotrip.org for up-to-date information.
