The Thames path is on the opposite bank to our location however it is a very easy walk to Abingdon bridge to get onto the path.

Sadly this walk across the weir is closed at present (2023) as it’s been deemed unsafe after trees and other debris have damaged it over the winter - BUT there is a little ferry running from the boatyard by the cafe which takes you across to the lock from where you can walk to Wallingford. At present running 7 days a week, 9.30am to 5pm. No booking needed, just turn up.

Why not walk a section of the Thames path from Lechlade to Tadpole Bridge and end up with lunch or supper at The Trout. Alternately, drive to either and explore smaller sections, returning to gthe pub of your choice.
