This cafe at MOCAD is one of those places where you’re liable to rub elbows with people from the literary community. Writers don’t write on caffeine alone—sometimes you want to go out for a glass of wine. It’s also a popular place for readings. I’ve been to several events here for InsideOut Literary Arts, a group that promotes youth voices in poetry, and I’m always blown away. The art exhibits at MOCAD are a source of inspiration for any writer. Remember, the D is for Detroit, so you’re going to see work that represents our unique Detroit aesthetic.
