he Jardim Garcia de Orta is a small municipal garden located in the heart of Panjim, the capital of Goa. This small garden is a good place to relax or to watch kids play. The garden's main attraction is the Ashoka Pillar, India's national emblem, in the center. This replaced an earlier bust of Vasco da Gama, from the time when GOa was under the Portuguese. The garden comes alive during festivals and occasions such as the Goa Carnival. One can see beautiful colorful masks all around and a music festival is also held here, with food stalls making for a nice overall experience.
