Stretching for over six miles with the Macrihanish Dunes as it's backdrop, Westport is one of the finest beaches on the west coast of Scotland. Ideal for a picnic or a bracing walk, depending on the weather!
Westport is one of several beautiful beaches within easy driving distance. 3 miles of sandy beach and dunes stretch all the way along to Machrihanish bay. Great surfing but take care if swimming, there are rip tides. Other beaches nearby include A’chleit, 2 miles north of Glenbarr which has amazing rock formations and is perfect for swimming and paddle boarding. Killagruer beach is another lovely sandy beach around a miles walk from the village (public access through the caravan site).
