Interesting historical landmark in the middle of the city. Surrounding parkland is very pleasant and quiet. A great historic building from the early settlement of Brisbane. The windmill did grind grain for the early settlement but latter the blades were taken off. Hanging occoured nearby on a platform recently discovered again. An indigenous person was hanged from one of the sails at one time (which has sparked stories of ghosts). Behind there are dorm like buildings which housed convicts and later were used as early water storage but now are being used for plays. The Mill itself was later used as a weather observatory and the large brass ball on top was moved to indicate weather.
